UCE Celebrated Republic Day in the Campus


Being patriotic is synonymous to celebrating the important milestone of the country and Republic day is one such event .68th Republic day was celebrated by the staff and students of Universal Group of Institution with patriotic fervor. Dr. Gurpreet Singh ,Chairman ,Universal Group of Institution welcomed the Chief Guest Sh. Ravinder Kishanji , an eminent Personality and renowned Lawyer and hoisted the National Flag followed by  National Anthem. Hon. Chairman Sir spoke to the gathering about the Sanctity of the occasion and the role played by Constitutional makers with particular references. He threw light on various tasks to be undertaken by the present students who are the future citizens of the country. Chairman Sir addressed the student should be brave and face all the challenges with courage so that they can perform their role as a good citizen. Cultural activities were held and the gathering was treated with some spectacular musical feats. A republic day parade held in college premises with beat of drum. The celebration concluded with the words of who  honour in the respect of  the people who made an Independent India Possible and this is time to pay Patriotic respect to our country.

UCE Celebrated Holi in Campus


Lohri was celebrated at Universal Group of Institutions with gaiety and enthusiasm. The mood on the campus was upbeat and the students were totally absorbed in the festive spirit of Lohri. Among present on the occasion were Dr. Gurpreet Singh, Chairman, UGI, Ms. Prabhjot Jolly Director Academics, Dr.Kompal Wadhawan Principal DSGCE, Deans and Heads of various departments. Dr. Kompal welcomed the dignitaries on the celebration. The function started with speech by Mr. Surinder highlighting the importance of the festival of Lohri, which ushers in the cheerful spring season bidding adieu to the dull winter. The programme started with “Lohri Poojan.”Dr. Gurpreet Singh, Chairman UGI, Ms. Prabhjot Jolly Director UIET, Dr. Kompal Wadhawan Principal DSGCE & Convenor Cultural Committee UGI with all other Principals, Dean& HOD’s of various department worshipped ‘Dhooni’ and groundnuts and sweets were also distributed among the students. Speaking on the occasion Dr. Gurpreet Singh, Chairman UGI joined us with the hope that the coming year would bring the happiness in the lives of the all human beings. He emphasized on the importance of traditions in life and focused on ‘dhiyaan di Lohri’. To add fun the students from DSGCE enacted on the story of “Dhulla Bhatti wala”& also performed Giddha, The Folk dance of Punjab. A colourful programme was conducted on this occasion by Mr. Ravinder Kumar & Dr. Surina Sharma. The celebration concluded with the words of Ms.  Prabhjot Jolly, Director (Academics) who on the occasion said Lohri festival prompts people to be thankful for God’s provisions and to celebrate his creations, its focus on farming. Dr. Kompal Wadhawan,convenor, Cultural Committee , UGI extended vote of thanks.
